Hyderabad, Telangana: In a significant initiative to promote women’s safety and empowerment, the Mailardevpally Police, in collaboration with the Telangana State Commission for Women (TGSCW), conducted a comprehensive awareness programme at Grand Garden, Mailardevpally.
The programme witnessed active participation from the Station House Officer (SHO), women police personnel, and the Spandana Team, who educated adolescent girls and women on personal safety, legal rights, cyber safety, and police support services.
Interactive sessions covered important topics including the POCSO Act, 2012, the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, safe and unsafe touch, cybercrime prevention, and human trafficking awareness. Participants also received valuable guidance on nutrition and menstrual hygiene management, promoting both health and well-being.
The police further informed attendees about emergency helplines, available police assistance, and the role of the Spandana Team in protecting and supporting women facing distress or violence.
The awareness drive reflects the Hyderabad Police’s commitment to community policing, women’s empowerment, and preventive awareness, equipping women and girls with the knowledge, confidence, and resources needed to protect themselves and contribute to building safer communities.
