Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: On the 5th of this month, an unidentified man approached Mallika (72)—a resident of Jakkampatti near Guziliyamparai in Dindigul district—claiming to be an Electricity Board employee there to take a meter reading, and snatched her 3-sovereign gold chain. Acting on this, a police team led by Guziliyamparai Inspector Raja analyzed local CCTV footage and arrested Rajeshkumar (40) of North Palayam, Vellalapatti, Karur, for the incident. The police recovered the 3-sovereign gold chain from him, produced him in court, and remanded him to prison.
