Vijayawada City, Andhra Pradesh: Director General of Police Shri Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, inaugurated the Cyber Crime Coordination Centre at the NTR Police Commissionerate, marking a step towards strengthening the fight against cybercrimes in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said the Cyber Guard Policy is being introduced to effectively control and prevent cybercrimes across the State. He announced that a Cyber War Room would be established shortly to strengthen cybercrime monitoring and response mechanisms.
He said Cyber Crime Coordination Centres are being established in every district, supported by dedicated special teams to handle cybercrime cases. Twenty Cyber Constables are also being deployed in each district to enhance prevention, investigation and response capabilities.
The DGP stressed the importance of reporting cybercrimes immediately, particularly financial fraud cases. He urged victims to promptly call the National Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930 or register complaints online through the official cybercrime portal.
Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekara Babu, IPS, along with other senior police officers and personnel, attended the programme.
