Murshidabad, West Bengal: Karaya Police have achieved a significant breakthrough in a major residential theft case through swift investigation and sustained follow-up, resulting in the arrest of seven accused persons and recovery of stolen property.
A theft was reported from a flat in Karaya on the evening of September 2, 2026, during which the offenders allegedly stole gold and silver ornaments valued at approximately ₹60–70 lakh, 15 imported watches and ₹85,000 in cash.
Acting promptly, Karaya Police Station arrested seven accused persons on September 3 and 4, 2026. The investigating team subsequently pursued multiple leads and conducted sustained investigation based on information obtained from the accused.
As a result, police recovered approximately 200 grams of gold ornaments, 500 grams of silver ornaments and ₹24,500 in cash from different locations in the Tiljala area.
Further investigation has revealed leads regarding the remaining stolen property and other persons allegedly involved in the offence. Police teams are continuing their efforts to recover the remaining property and apprehend the absconding associates.
The successful recovery highlights the swift response, focused investigation and sustained efforts of Karaya Police in tracing stolen property and bringing those involved in the crime to justice.
