Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: Chithiraivel (38) from Sengulathupatti offered to drop a woman home on his two-wheeler after she finished work near Kalaimagal School in Vadamadurai, Dindigul, last night. Instead, he took her to the Sithur Kulam area, pushed her down, and attempted to sexually assault her. He also assaulted and stomped on the woman while issuing death threats. The woman managed to escape the scene while screaming for help. Having sustained injuries, she was admitted to the Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital. Acting on orders from SP Jayakumar, a police team led by Inspector Bhuvaneswari of the Vadamadurai All-Women Police Station investigated the incident and arrested Chithiraivel.
