Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: Acting on a tip-off received by Dindigul District Superintendent of Police (SP) Jayakumar regarding the smuggling of ganja to the Dindigul bus stand, a police team—led by Town North Police Station Inspector Vasanthakumar and supervised by Town DSP Karthik—conducted intensive surveillance. During the operation, they intercepted a man who had alighted from a bus carrying a bag and was acting suspiciously; a search revealed that he was smuggling ganja. Consequently, the police arrested the individual—Alex Anandaraj (23), son of Arockiyadas from East Mariyanathapuram—seized 4 kg of ganja from him, and have initiated an investigation.
