Madurai, Tamil Nadu: Madurai City Police – On September 28, 2026, night-time foot patrols were conducted across all police ranges within the Madurai City Police limits to ensure public safety. Under the orders of the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, and the supervision of the Madurai City Police Commissioner, police officers and personnel—led by Assistant Commissioners and Inspectors of Police—carried out these patrols. During the patrols, they interacted directly with the public to listen to their grievances and gather information regarding safety. They also raised public awareness about crime prevention and the maintenance of law and order.
