Warangal, Telangana: Acting on the orders of Warangal Police Commissioner N. Swetha (IPS), and under the supervision of Traffic Additional DCP Rayala Prabhakar Rao, Traffic ACP T. Satyanarayana, along with traffic inspectors and staff, conducted a special program on Thursday at Pochamma Maidan Circle in Warangal city. During vehicle inspections, traffic police had seized silencers that were modified—in violation of manufacturer specifications—to emit excessive noise. Approximately 350 such seized silencers were destroyed using a road roller. Speaking on the occasion, Traffic Additional DCP Rayala Prabhakar Rao stated that modifying silencers to produce loud noise not only increases noise pollution but also causes severe inconvenience to the public. He noted that students, the elderly, and the sick are particularly affected by this issue. He urged motorists to use only the original silencers installed by the manufacturer and warned that legal action would be taken against those who modify silencers to generate excessive noise in violation of regulations. Traffic ACP T. Satyanarayana, Inspector Sujatha, and other traffic personnel participated in the event.
