<![CDATA[The ambiance and use of technology at Punjagutta police station was highly praised by Kerala Chief Minister Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan. Mr. Vijayan, who visited the police station on Thursday afternoon, said the station was well maintained and was impressed by the use of technology. He observed the process of petition registration at the reception counter and processing of a compliant and expressed contentment over the functioning of police stations in the State. Mr. Vijayan took some time off from the 22nd CPI (M) National Congress here to visit the model police station at Punjagutta. He spent over 30 minutes at the station visiting various sections. The Station House Officer Mr.S. Ravindar explained to him the various facilities at the three-story police station, including stress-free zone, interrogation center, command control room, closed file room, learning center and gym for policemen. “The Chief Minister even inspected the wash rooms and lock-up room,” Mr. Ravindar said. He was accompanied by Home Minister Mr.Naini Narshimha Reddy, Director General of Police Mr.M. Mahender Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Mr.A.R. Srinivas and Punjagutta ACP Mr. Vijay Kumar. The Punjagutta police station was adjudged the second best in the country in a survey conducted by the Quality Council of India and Ministry of Home Affairs in January this year. Later, Mr. Vijayan visited Technology Fusion Centre and Traffic Command Control Centre at Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate at Basheerbagh. Mr. Mahender Reddy explained to him the functioning of TS COP and Hawk Eye mobile applications. He was also impressed by the performance of the police and the infrastructure provided to the department by the State government. “A team will be sent to Telangana State to study in detail the policing and implement the same in Kerala,” Mr. Vijayan added.]]>
