<![CDATA[A young man was arrested by the Doddaballapur police for killing a local youth The murderer dumped the chopped head behind a house in Chickpet in Doddaballapur on April 29. The accused, Pawan, a rowdy, after committing the murder had even filed an attempt to murder case against the friends of deceased and got them arrested to divert the investigation, said the police, adding that they zeroed in on Pawan after recovering the head of the deceased, identified as Upendra from Karenahalli. Upon introgation Pawan confessed to the murder, and the police recovered the torso and the machete he used, which was buried on the lakebed of Nagarakere. Pawan confessed to the police that Upendra and his associate, Ashok, who were unemployed, had threatened and snatched a bike from Pawan, while he was returning home with his friend. Angered by this, on May 29, he invited Upendra through his associates on the pretext of talking and murdered him. The police said that he walked with the head wrapped in plastic to surrender before the police but however on the way he changed his mind and dumped the head behind a house in Chickpet in Doddaballapur and later went to the police station and filed a complaint against Ashok and his associates, accusing them of attempting to murder him. Based on the complaint filed by Pawan the police arrested Ashok and his four associates under attempt to murder and remanded them to judicial custody. But when the police recovered the head and began to investigate, they came across a missing complaint filed by Umashankar, Upendra’s father. Mr.Bhimashankar Guled, Superintendent of Police ( Bengaluru district) said that the Doddaballapur police came across the information that Upendra was last seen with associates of Pawan and detained them for questioning, after which Pawan confessed to the crime. ]]>
