<![CDATA[New Delhi: The Delhi Police arrested two persons for allegedly supplying heroin in several States, including Delhi on Monday. Over 25 kg of heroin worth Rs.100 crore have been seized from them. DCP (Special Cell) Mr.Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said that the accused have been identified as Sayeed Khan (62) and Ghanshyam (46) and are residents of Madhya Pradesh. An information about a drug cartel, which collects raw material from hilly areas adjoining Manipur and Myanmar to prepare heroin, which is further sold in Delhi, Assam,, UP, Rajastan and MP have been received by the police. Mr. Yadav said members of the cartel were identified and a surveillance was mounted. The police laid a trap on October 13, based on a confidential piece of information that Sayeed would deliver a consignment near a CNG pump in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. He was apprehended and 25 kg heroin was recovered from his truck. Mr. Yadav said that he used to transport heroin concealed between tea packets to evade the law enforcement agencies. On interrogating Sayeed he identified the other accused and Ghanshyam was later arrested from MP. During further interrogation, Sayeed said that he was trafficking drugs at the behest of one Raju and used to communicate with one Zameer over the phone regarding delivery of consignments.
