<![CDATA[Tiruchi: During Thursday night an attempt was made to burgle the Indian Overseas Bank's branch at Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district. The bank is situated along the railway station road and the incident occurred after the staff had left the bank. When the bank’s alarm went off, the police personnel rushed to the spot and found a hole in the wall where the air-conditioner unit had been kept earlier. The Police suspect that the accused could have gained entry through the hole as the cardboard used to cover it was found scattered. A crowbar was also found at the spot. The Police said no cash or any other articles were found missing from the bank. The Kumbakonam West Police are investigating into the burglary attempt.]]>
