<![CDATA[Coimbatore : In a view to assist the traffic police personal in giving the necessary inputs to the public regarding the importance in following traffic rules a campaign was held by the teachers and students of the Ganga Institute of Health Sciences by displaying posters and placards at six traffic signals along Avanashi Road. Over 200 students and faculty members took part in the campaign. This campaign was conducted as part of the public movement, Uyir, against road accidents. The campaign’s vision was to attain the target zero accidents. The campaign was conducted by the students and faculty members of the Ganga Institute of Health Sciences who joined hands to talk to passers-by on road safety and the placards they carried had positive quotes which reinforces the road safety measures. The team of students and teachers stood up in the signals throughout the peak hours of traffic from 8 to 10 a.m. and again from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in a effort to reach out to the maximum number of motorists and other vehicles. The campaign was highlighted by appreciating the by-passers, who correctly followed the traffic rules, by offering sweets. The volunteers also gave the positive messages in a card to those non-compliant drivers in an effort to make them abide to the traffic rules. ]]>
