<![CDATA[Surat: Omprakash Kiri, 39, a diamond trader, had borrowed Rs3 lakh from Kanu Baraiya at an interest rate of 6 per cent in 2014. Kiri had paid up the amount, but Baraiya maintains that he still owed him Rs5.40 lakh. Baraiya called up Kiri on his mobile number on December 28, 2018 and threatened to shoot him dead. The accused said he had spent time in jail in a murder case and will have no hesitation in killing him. Baraiya, who is from Dalit community, had also threatened to file a case of atrocity against him. Kiri, a native of Banaskantha district, registered a complaint against Baraiya at Katargam police on January 3. “We have started investigation in the case. The culprit will be caught soon. He has been booked under IPC sections and also Prevention of Money Laundering Act,” a police officer said. Our Citizen Reporter Mr. Vaibhav, Surat Police News Plus, Newsmedia Association of India ]]>
