Chandigarh: A feedback system has been introduced by the Harayana police to ensure prompt and effective handling of complaints of crime against women across the state. Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk, ADGP (law and order) who wanted to implement the new feedback system said this system was first introduced in Rohtak after a girl from Sonipat village was found murdered after rape in the industrial area of Rohtak in 2017. During investigation, it was found that the complaints were not handled properly during the initial phases. By introducing this system, the complaints of crime against women are brought into the register that is maintained for women and child helpline1091. It was made compulsory for IOs munshis of police stations and police posts to put the complaint-reaching directory in helpline register within 24 hours. DGP Mr. Manoj Yadava said that once a complaint enters the register, it is mandatory for the SHO to get feedback making random calls, followed by cross checking by nodal officers.
