Bengaluru: A search has been initiated by the High Grounds police for two persons who allegedly attempted to dupe officials with forged documents while availing financial help from the Chief Minister’s relief fund. The police identified the accused as Sunandamma, 49, and her associate Chennappa, 33. The police said that the two claimed to be natives of Maddur in Mandya district and met with the Chief Minister during the Janata Darshan in February this year. A financial assistance for a medical emergency was requested and they submitted the documents. The officials in charge assured Sunandamma that they would help her. The documents that were presented to the officials and medical records were from Manipal Hospital. To obtain a confirmation while examining the application, officials reached out to Manipal Hospital, but were told that the hospital had no record of the case. The case was then referred to the High Grounds police, who on investigation found that even the Aadhaar and ration cards were fake. The telephone number mentioned in the Aadhar card is also fake, a senior police officer said.]]>
