Gurugram: After the polling was over the Electronic Voting Machines were shifted to the centers where the counting of votes would be done. The security provided to the centers where the Electronic Voting Machines are kept are on a 24-hour basis with the precaution taken to prevent its tampering. The security structure that has been kept in place at the strong rooms in Gurugram district is of the style of a three-tier round-the-clock security system and the personal deployed is more than 700 police officers, besides para-military personnel. The strong rooms for the EVMs have been set up at Government Girls’ College in Sector 14. The security structure that has been put in place comprises of a three-tier security ring, the innermost ring comprises of the Seema Suraksha Bal personnel, the middle-ring comprises of the Indian Reserve Battalion, and the local police guard the outer ring. For security purpose, the police have set up seven checkpoints on the roads leading to the counting centre and the motorists have been asked to avoid the roads in its vicinity during the counting of votes.
