Salem: The Salem City Police solved a kidnapping case and took into custody the accused who were involved in the crime. The kidnapped child was also seized from the accused. The accused were identified as Velavan, his wife Revathi and their minor daughter. The boy child, B. Yogeshwaran, On May 22, was playing in front of his house in Shevapet. The boy was then found to be missing by his parents. The boy’s mother filed a complaint with the Shevapet police who started the investigation into the complaint. The boy was later found near Selathampatti. During investigation, the police checked the CCTV footage and with the help of the footage in the area, the police found that a woman and a girl was involved in the crime. On further investigation, the police found that Velavan, his wife Revathi and their minor daughter kidnapped the boy and had demanded a ransom of Rs. 2 lakh from the child’s parents. During interrogation, the accused confessed the truth to the police. The police said the man; Velavan runs a mobile shop and has acquaintance with the boy’s parents. As his business was running into loss and as he was facing loan issues, they kidnapped the boy to demand a ransom, which, he thought, could be used to settle his loans.
