Nurpur: In the district of Kangra, of Himachal Pradesh, police apprehended a man for raping a girl who was mentally challenged. The man aged 48 is identified as Ram Dass, Alias Paaji, hailing from Sanjwan village. According to the complaint of the victim’s mother, her daughter went missing from her home on Thursday and later she was found on the banks of the rivulet in a semi-conscious condition. The accused had been raping her mentally challenged daughter repeatedly, who is the father of three children and had intimidated her not to tell anyone. She reported to Indora police when her daughter disclosed the incident to her. Finally, police arrested him and he had been booked for the violation of section 375 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. According to SP Santosh Patial, the medical examination of the victim had been carried out for further verification and the report is yet to be confirmed. So, once the report is ready the accused would be presented before the local court tomorrow. ]]>
