Kochi: The Central Police of Kochi have cracked a theft case by arresting the accused who is a woman aged 20. The theft took place at the General Hospital and the victim is a woman who had come for treatment at the hospital. The materials stolen were a wallet containing the currency and ATM cards of the victim. The accused has been arrested and has been identified as Divya Pius aged 20 belonging to Thrikkakara. The theft came to light when the wallet containing the valuables went missing from in front of MICU following the incident the relatives of the victim lodged a petition with the Central police. On receiving the complaint the police started investigating the incident and examined the CCTV footage at the hospital, which revealed the visuals of the accused. As the police conducted the search operation the accused was arrested from a nearby location. In yet another incident the Central police arrested two persons on charges of robbery on Saturday. They had stolen the mobile phone and Rs.3000/- from a person riding a motorcycle at South Kochi. The accused had been identified as Niyas Rashid aged 21 belonging to Mattancherry, and Nausharban aka Chikku aged 18, belonging to Fort Kochi. On the other day when the police were on patrol duty, they found Niyas to be in suspicious circumstances and picked him up and on questioning it was found that one of the mobile phones in his possession was a stolen one, the police claimed. According to the police, a resident of Cherthala was relieved of his mobile phone by a three-member gang on a scooter. ]]>
