Nagpur: On Monday, C-60 Commandos of Gadchiroli Police and Maoists encounter, security forces gunned down a woman Maoist at Fuser-Garanji Forest. The identity of the person was yet to be verified. Police presumably believed that there was possibility of more casualties or injuries in the Maoists camp. The body of the lady Maoist was recovered from the place after the gun-battle ended. More inspections were undertaken at the forest and also in and around adjoined areas for injured Maoists. While the cross-firing was taking place from both the side, Maoists cadres were seen fleeing from the spot. The indefinite operation was launched in accordance with the tip-off received said the official. Besides, police also asked the tribal population to protest against the entry of Maoists into the villages by enforcing ‘gaon bandi’.
