SECUNDERABAD: Three persons involved in a gruesome incident had been arrested by police on Thursday for murder. The accused were Ganga Bai, wife of the deceased, his son Kishan Suthar, and daughter Prapulla. According to police, Maruthi Suthar was a retired railway employee who had moved from Maharashtra to Malkajgiri over a decade ago. He was working as railway good train driver until he retired. He retired in 2000 voluntarily due to ill health and since then he had been receiving Rs 30000 as monthly pension. The whole expenditure of the family depended on his pension. On the other hand, the victim was addicted to alcohol for which he often quarreled with his wife, son and daughter. Bored with his attitude and quarrels, the trio conspired to kill him in order to get the pension money. The displeasing and nasty idea drown to their mind was food poisoning by using datura fruit powder, which is very poisonous. Subsequently, they poisoned the food he ate in the evening. In the following morning, the dead body was dragged to pooja room and chopped into pieces. The pieces of the body of Maruthi was filled in six garbage buckets. To prevent from foul smell air fresheners were brought in the house. However, the foul smell could not be prevented. On Sunday, the neigbours made a complaint to police of foul smell. Police carried out the investigation and recovered the pieces of body in the buckets. Police have arrested the trio and booked them for murder, causing disappearance of evidence of the offence, or giving false information to screen offender and criminal conspiracy of the Indian Penal Code. ]]>
