<![CDATA[Mumbai: The Mumbai Police have introduced three mobile applications and one website for lending ears to the complaints regarding women safety and other complaints of the public. The motive behind launching of these apps is to safeguard women if they are in critical conditions or going through a crisis. These apps also allow the public to lodge their complaints with the police regarding their stolen vehicles and misplaced baggage in the railways. The following three apps will be launched and the users will be able to download them from Google Play Store: Pratisad App (For Women Safety), Pratisad Railway App (For Railway Services) and Police Mitra Maharashtra App (For Police-Public Co-ordination and help). The Pratisad App, which is launched for women safety, could be downloaded from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snt.uniqueguard&hl=en. If in case there is a crisis, then a user can press the emergency button in the application after which an alert message is sent to a police officer whoever is stationed within three kilometers away from the user. Pratisad Railway App has been launched to provide better services to the railway passengers. Users can surf the following sites to get police help in railways: www.helpline.mumbairlypolice.gov.in www.punerailwaypolice.in and www.app.nagpurrailwaypolice.gov.in. This App enables the passengers to lodge police complaint in case their valuables are stolen or robbed during their journey. The registered complaint is directly forwarded to the senior inspector and the users can upload pictures and videos as well. The Police Mitra Maharshtra App has been introduced for a proper coordination between the police and civilians.
