Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Government Railway Police (GRP), have made an official note of the personal details of the person who has committed the crime. The accused is a 21-year-old student from Kerala and was accused of molesting his classmate on train and bus during an industrial visit to Mangaluru. As per the details received by the Police the accused has been identified as a third year under graduate student from a private college in the city. The police said the accused and the victim were on an industrial visit to Mangaluru and were accompanied by many more students, the total students were 42 and two teachers on August 29. According to the complaint filed by the girl student it states that the accused attempted to molest her on moving train en route to Mangaluru on August 29 morning. Even though the girl student issued him warning for his misconduct, the accused not taking the warning to heed misbehaved with the girl while travelling on a bus from Mangaluru to Murudeshwar on the night of August 29. The petition stated that the accused repeated the act again while on train as they were travelling back to Coimbatore on Tuesday. When the girl student made a complaint about the male student’s misbehavior, the train ticket examiner pushed him out of the train at Shoranur railway station. The girl student then lodged a complaint with the GRP, Coimbatore, when she arrived the city. He was booked under Section 354 A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment) of the IPC and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. The police said that efforts are being taken to trace and apprehend the accused. ]]>
