Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Police said on Sunday that a youth aged 17 was burnt to death in Punjab’s Mansa district. They said that the youth, Jasprit Singh was taken to a closed rice mill on Saturday night, where his legs were tied and he was set on fire by pouring some inflammable material. On investigating the case the police officials identified the accused. Sub-Inspector Mr. Sukhjit Singh said the accused Jashan Singh, Gurjit Singh and their another accomplice had been booked for the crime.
The accused, Jashan Singh is the brother of Jasprit’s sister-in-law. Jasprit’s elder brother Kulwinder Singh had married his neighbor and Jashan’s sister Raju two and a half years ago. Both had been living at Budhlada, about 20 km from the city.
Police said that all the efforts were being taken to apprehend the absconding accused.
