Srinagar: The Srinagar police made a surprise raid at a gambling site as they started operating tough against social crimes and arrested the persons who were involved in gambling.
The raid was conducted as the police personal received a credible input about the gambling offenses in Sonwar area of Ram Munshi Bagh and arrested 6 persons who were involved in gambling.
The police officers from the local police station while making the arrests have seized stake money of Rs.1,57,240 from the gamblers and 6 mobile phones from their possession.
The police have registered a case with FIR No. 91/2019 under the relevant sections of law at the R.M.Bagh Police Station and the investigation into the crime has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law said the police requesting the community members to share information regarding the crimes committed in their neighborhood to the local police station.
