Trichy: The cyber crime police of the Trichy city police have apprehended a person who had apparently downloaded child porn, uploaded the same and circulated the content to his contacts through a social media platform.
The cybercrime Police arrested the accused identified as Christopher Alphonse aged 42 of Khajapet for possession of child pornographic content under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Information Technology. This is the first time the Tamil Nadu Police has invoked provisions under these amended Acts to curb child pornography.
