Police DC Mr. Eswaran presides as Special Guest for Food distribution for Visually Handicapped Persons on the occasion of Police Day

Chennai: A building that was built during the British rule intended to be the palace for Queen Victoria is now being utilized as the Government Higher Secondary School and government-linked institutions for the visually impaired. The school has a facility for the students to stay and study. It is noteworthy to note that this school has been included in the top ten list of the best schools for the visually impaired in Chennai.

The school has a hostel in which about 270 people are staying and studying in poverty. Moreover, there are persons who are staying who do not have any support and are visually impaired which includes both adults and elders.

On the occasion of Police Day that is expected to be celebrated on the 24th of December, an effort has been taken towards developing an awareness of the above mentioned day and the food that was served at the government institution in Poonamallee for the visually impaired comprised of a non-veg Biryani meal. The noon food was served today to the 270 members of the school who are male and female students, adults and elders.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ambattur Mr. Eswaran participated in the event as the guest of honour. He came to the school and oversaw the food that was being served. DC visited the classrooms and saw the methods that were used in education and encouraged them to learn. For the past few days, there has been protests and demonstrations in various places, including Chennai, to protest against the Citizen Amendment Bill. In the midst of the difficult tasks of bringing the protests under control, Mr. Eswaran, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and has taken time in his busy schedule to come and visit and encourage the persons who do not have the sight to see the world events and are living in poverty is to be appreciated.
SRMC Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Sembedu Babu and Poonamallee Police Inspector Mr.N.Giri were present at the event and they made the event a grand success.

In accordance with the instruction given by the News Media Association of India, National President and Police News Plus, Chief Editor Mr. A Charles, the event was organized by Chennai Press Secretary and Police News Citizen Reporter Mr. Mohammed Moosa and the team.

The Police day is being observed every year on 24 December. On this day to honour the police officers who are on duty and appreciate the good deeds done by the police officers, sweets are being distributed and the day is being celebrated.
On October 21st, the day is being observed as the day to be remembered for the police officers who have lost their life while on duty and wreaths are put in remembrance of them. This day cannot be celebrated.

To celebrate the good deeds of the police officers December 24 is celebrated as Police Day. Every year on this day from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Police Day is being celebrated. On this day all the people who are living in their respective areas which come under the jurisdiction of the respective police stations, which include the public and Police supporters who join together in decorating the police station of their area and in distributing sweets, Chocolates, Cakes, mementoes to the police. Also, they put shawls and present flower bouquets to the police officials.

The Public and Police supporters arrange a felicitation function to the Police. They show their gratitude in a small way to the services that the Police render to us and our nation.

It will be encouraging to the Police and they will become more enthusiastic when people say ‘Wish you a happy Police Day’.
