New Delhi: As Christmas will be celebrated from 24th December 2019 evening till 25th December 2019 it is expected on 24th December 2019 that thousands of devotees will be congregating at various Churches for prayers.
The main church of New Delhi District expecting heavy congregation of devotees is as under, Sacred Heart Cathedral Gol Dak Khana, Free Church, 10 Sansad Marg, The Cathedral Church of the Redemption, 1 Church Road. Traffic is expected to remain heavy at the following locations, Gol Dak Khana, Ashoka Road (Gol Dak Khana to Windsor Place), Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Sansad Marg, Patel Chowk, Church Road.
Traffic will be diverted from the following points, if required, Traffic coming towards Gol Dak Khana from R/A RML will be diverted, if required, from Bhai Veer Singh Marg / Kali Bari T Point coming towards Gol Dak Khana will be diverted, if required, traffic coming from Patel Chowk on Ashoka Road towards Gol Dak Khana will be diverted, if required, traffic coming from Outer Circle Connaught Place towards Gol Dak Khana on Baba Kharak Singh Marg will be diverted.
Parking for vehicles will be permitted at the following places, Pandit Pant Marg in a single lane both sides, Jai Singh Road in a single lane both sides and Church Road in a single lane.
All other roads leading towards New Delhi Railway Station & adjoining areas will remain open for the general public. Motorists are advised to avoid the above-mentioned routes on 24th December 2019.
Keeping in view the Christmas celebrations, general public and motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly in advance so that delays can be taken into account; and also requested to follow the directions of the traffic policemen and remain updated through Traffic Police Facebook page, Twitter handler and Traffic Police Helpline to avoid inconvenience.
