Chandigarh – In a dramatic action taken by the Anti-Narcotics Bureau of the Haryana Police two women have been arrested and 24 kg and 200 grams of cannabis have been seized from them in the Karnal district.
A spokesman of Haryana Police told today that the arrested accused have been identified as Chandramukhi alias Chandro and Chandni Devi alias Chanda, resident of the Daha Colony and Mangal Colony in Karnal. During interrogation, the arrested accused revealed that they had brought the seized drug consignment from Indira Colony, Delhi, and planned to make money by selling it at a fraction of the cost.
The anti-narcotic cell had received information about drug peddling from secret sources, following which the police team conducted a raid in the Daha township and arrested the two women with 24 kg and 200 grams of Hemp leaf. The two women also revealed Bittu’s name who was involved in drug peddling. He too will soon be sent behind bars.
A case has been registered by the police under the provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is going on to find out since when they have been trading drugs and who else is involved.
