<![CDATA[A three-year road map by the Delhi Police to fight cyber crime was reviewed by Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal on Thursday. He asked the police to strengthen human resource and conduct awareness programme. At a meeting to review law and order in the city attended by government and police officers, the Delhi Police presented its plan to prevent cyber crimes, said a statement from Raj Niwas. The police discussed various issues including how they gather actionable intelligence and procedures used in investigations and prosecutions. Also, they said that the team was actively monitoring and trying to crack malware, thefts of crypto currency and online fraud. We are looking at new areas like network forensics, cloud forensics and advance mobile forensics, added the police. The Raj Niwas said that a year-wise road map for three years was discussed and Mr. Baijal asked the police to focus on periodic assessment. He said that an awareness programme stating the precautions needed to be taken should be launched. The L-G also told the police to focus on developing skilled and dedicated human resource for fighting cyber crime. “He advised Delhi Police to suitably incentivize existing personnel in this regard besides making appropriate modifications to its recruitment procedures for inducting the best talent available to help it fight cyber crime effectively,” the Raj Niwas said.]]>
