Kottayam: Unnikuttan (24), son of Rajimon Makan Aromal, was arrested by the Pampadi police in Kottayam’s Lakattur Thotapalli area. Several cases are pending against him at Vakathanam, Kottayam East, Kottayam West and Pampady stations in Kottayam district. Also there are cases against him in Pathanamthitta district. Earlier, action was taken against him under the CAPA Act and the court canceled his bail after he broke into another house and caused damage after he was released on bail as a suspect in the case of stabbing his friend to death.
After that the accused went absconding. The accused was arrested from Thiruvananthapuram after a special investigation team was formed under the leadership of the Kottayam District Police Chief and the search was intensified. Pampady S.H.O. Mr. Prashant Kumar, S. I. Mr. Lebimon, CPOs Mr. Jibin Lobo, Mr. Bijesh and Mr. Anish were part of the investigation team. All over the station limits of Kottayam district and to monitor the accused with more than one case for re-offending and if so detect and take strong legal action against them, all DYSP marks, SHO Marks also informed District Police Chief Mr.K. Karthik that the instructions have been given.
