Rachakonda: On 11-5-2021 at 6 pm Rajapet Police received a complaint from Mr. Palle Narsimhulu S/o Balaiah, aged: 65 years, Occ: Agriculture residence of Raghunathpur Village of Rajapet Mandal wherein he stated that his neighbor accused Vadlakonda Nagaraju S/o Late Balram, aged: 38 years, Occ: Coolie resident of Raghunathpur addicted to alcohol and bad vices as his wife left him over family disputes. The accused Nagaraju used to quarrel with his parents to register their land in his favor, on this the complainant Narsimhulu reprimanded him. In the year 2016, the accused Nagaraju’s father passed away due to ill health. One day the accused quarreled with his mother in a drunken state, on hearing the same, complainant Narsimhulu came to his house and beat him. Since then, the accused bore grudge against the complainant Narsimhulu and used to quarrel with the complainant and finally planned to kill him. As per his plan, the accused Nagaraju purchased 3 liters of petrol and kept them at his house. On 10.05.2021 at about 6 pm the accused consumed liquor and slept in the house. On the same day during the night after having dinner, the complainant Narsimhulu and his family slept in the Varanda, at about morning 3:30 am the accused criminally trespassed into the house of the complainant with petrol bottles by jumping over the compound wall and bolted the door from outside. Due to door sounds, the complainant and his wife Mrs. P Laxmi saw the accused with petrol bottles. On questioning the same the accused poured petrol on the window and on the complainant and lit a fire with a matchbox. Due to flames the complainant and his wife made hues and cries, on hearing the same his sons rushed out to open the kitchen door and tried to stop the flames. Meanwhile, the accused poured petrol on the complainant’s younger son and fled away.
Based on the complaint a case was registered at Rajapet Police Station, during the course of the investigation, the 10 Mr. A. Sridhar Reddy, SIP, Rajapet Police Station collected evidence, arrested the accused, and remanded him to judicial custody. On completion of the investigation, the 10 filed a charge sheet. During the trial on 7.1.2022 Hon’ble ASJ Court, Bhongir Mrs. V. Rajini at Bhongiri convicted the accused Vadlakonda Nagaraju(38) to undergo 4 years Rigorous Imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.2000/-.
In this case the 10 Mr. A. Sridhar Reddy, SIP, Rajapet Police Station, CDO Mr. G. Srinu of Rajapet Police Station, Addl PP. Mr. P. Sathyanarayana has attended on behalf of the prosecution.
CP Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS., and Addl. CP Mr. G.Sudheer Babu IPS. appreciated the 10, CDO, Addl. PP for their efforts in getting 4 years of conviction to the accused and announced rewards to them.
