Palakkad: In Palakkad, the Sri Thozhurmangalam Shiva temple in Thanneerkode was targeted by thieves who stole two decorative urns and a copper item from the ceremonial area. The arrested individuals are: Manikandan, aged 52, son of Rajan, residing at Chiran Kogiyil house in Kailiad, Shornur, and Arsal, also known as Shiju, aged 28, son of Basheer, from Kalamthal Thodi Veedu in Vallapuzha, Pattambi.
They have been taken into custody and presented in court on August 28, 2023, before being remanded. These two suspects have been linked to various other theft incidents. The arrest was carried out by a team including Chalissery Inspector K Satish Kumar, Sub-Inspector TV Rishiprasad, Grand Sub-Inspector Jolly Sebastian, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rashid Ali, and Senior Civil Police Officers Abdul Rasheed and Rajeev, following the recommendation of Shornur Deputy Superintendent of Police, PC Haridasan.
