Bilaspur: A theft was busted in a jewelry shop. Gold and silver jewelry, idols, utensils and worship items were stolen from the jewelry shop. The police conducted the investigation and identified the accused persons and arrested them. The Police then recovered 90 percent of the stolen materials from the possession of the 5 accused persons.
In another case a diesel thief gang was caught by the police. They used to steal diesel from vehicles parked on the side of the road by roaming around in a Bolero vehicle. About 2000 liters of diesel worth about Rs.190000 was confiscated from 8 accused persons and brought to the police station by tractor. Two Bolero vehicles, which were stolen, were also seized.
In yet another action taken by the police was against drugs in Bilaspur range under the campaign “Nashe Se Azadi Pakhwada”. Disposal of confiscated drugs was done in the range districts by the High Power Drug Disposal Committee. About 5MW of electricity was generated from the ganja burned during the demolition.
