BSF DG Dr. S L Thaosen recently held a meeting with the BSF Commando Team, which achieved a commendable third position in the highly competitive 13th All India Police Commando Competition organized by the National Security Guard. The event took place from March 21-31, 2023, at the Manesar base of the National Security Guard. During the meeting, the DG interacted with the team members and appreciated their hard work and dedication in securing a podium finish at the prestigious national-level competition.
The team, which was led by Mr. Rakesh Bankrya, AC 23 Bn, put up an impressive display of skills and expertise in various stages of the competition. These included Reflex Shooting, Small Team Operation, Navigation, Room Intervention, Endurance, and many others. The competition was keenly contested by various police and paramilitary forces from across the country, making the achievement of the BSF Commando Team all the more impressive.
The team’s overall score of 247.65 out of 300 was enough to secure them the third position in the competition, a remarkable feat considering the tough competition they faced. The team’s performance was a testament to their grit, determination, and unwavering commitment to their duty, which was highly appreciated by the BSF DG.
In particular, the leadership of Mr. Rakesh Bankrya, AC, was highlighted as instrumental in the team’s success. His guidance, mentorship, and leadership skills were essential in bringing out the best in the team members and ensuring that they performed to the best of their abilities.
