Malda: On 15.12.2019 a fully charred dead body of an unknown lady was recovered from Mango Orchid under English Bazar Police Station. With utmost effort and intelligence of investigating team comprising of Inspector Mr. Amalendu and Sub-Inspector Mr. Bapan Das, the victim could be identified as a lady from Siliguri and the sole accused who was from Malda was arrested immediately.
The Police arranged a speedy custodial trial resulting in life conviction with a fine for strangulating the victim to death and burnt her to destroy identity and evidence.
