Thrissur City: On the night of July 15, 2024, Ramakrishnan, a resident of Peringandur, was walking along the road at Mundathikode within the jurisdiction of the Medical College Police Station when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop. The driver, Muhammad Iqbal, a resident of Ottapalam Varode, was arrested by the Medical College Police. Ramakrishnan, a passerby, succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident. The arrest was made after a thorough investigation conducted over several days. The investigation, led by Medical College Police Station Inspector Shaju under the direction of Thrissur Assistant Commissioner Salish Sankaran, included Sub-Inspector Rajesh and senior civil police officers Shajan, Ameer Khan, Rajith, Akhil Vishnu, and Girish.
