Jammu: ADGP Armed Jammu and Kashmir Mr. S.J.M Gillani IPS declared open UT Level U-19 Cricket Tournament at G.G.M Science College Cricket Ground Jammu, here today in an impressive inaugural function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police. Mr. S.J.M Gillani IPS were the chief Guest on the occasion whereas Mr. Mukesh Singh IPS ADGP Jammu Zone was the Guest of Honour.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by a number of gazette officers of the Jammu-based AP/ IR Units which include Commandant IRP-15th Bn. Mr. Mubassir Latifi SSP, Commandant IRP-14th Bn. Ms. Anita Sharma, Commandant IRP-18th Bn. Mr. Kulbeer Singh SSP, Commandant IRP-19th Bn. Mr. Benam Tosh SSP, SO to ADGP Armed J&K Mr. Mahmood Ahmed SSP, SO to IGP Armed Ms. Manjeet Kour SSP, SO Sports APHQ J&K Mr. Dushyant Sharma SSP, SSP APCR Jammu Mr. Shazad Ahmad Salaria SSP, Commandant IRP-24th Bn. Mr. Anil Mangotra SSP, Pvt. Secretary. to ADGP Armed J&K/ Deputy SP Sports APHQ J&K Mr. Syed Sajad Hussain and Deputy SP (Pers) APHQ Mr. Abdul Hamid Dar DYSP.
The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour joined by other senior officers released a bunch of balloons connected with banners of the U-19 Cricket Tournament to mark the inauguration of the event on the occasion.
Earlier the participating player of the 4 teams of the tournament was introduced to the Chief Guest by the SO Sports APHQ J&K Mr. Dushyant Sharma SSP.
The first match of the tournament was played by Kashmir Rising Stars vs. the Jammu Dare Devil teams. Kashmir Rising Stars won the toss but elected to ball first. Jammu Dare Devil Team Won the match by 30 runs in the first match today. Mr. Kawalpreet Singh of the Jammu Dare Devil Team was declared the man of the match in the first match who scored 54 not-outs and took 2 wickets. Rs.2000/- was awarded to the man of the match. The second match was played today by Kashmir Super Stars vs. Jammu Warriors.
