Hyderabad, Telangana: In a major crackdown on food adulteration, the Commissioner’s Task Force Jubilee Hills Zone, in coordination with Food Safety officials, raided illegal manufacturing units operating under the name “Deccan Traders” in Rajendranagar.
During the operation, three accused—Sohail Charaniya, Raheem Charaniya, and Amit Charaniya—were apprehended for producing and distributing adulterated ginger-garlic paste under unhygienic conditions.
Investigations revealed that the accused were mixing harmful substances, including acetic acid, synthetic colors, and other additives, while preparing the paste in open and contaminated environments, posing a serious risk to public health. The adulterated products were reportedly supplied to wholesale stores and catering services across the city.
Authorities seized approximately 70 quintals of adulterated paste and chemical materials, collectively valued at around ₹3.5 lakh.
The accused, along with the seized materials, were handed over to the Attapur Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This swift action underscores the police department’s strong commitment to safeguarding public health and taking strict action against food adulteration and illegal trade practices.
