At the 71st All India Police Athletics Meet in Lucknow, the Kerala Police team demonstrated their exceptional athletic prowess by clinching the overall title in the state police category, tallying a total of 154 points. The team secured an impressive haul of eight gold, three silver, and eight bronze medals. Among the outstanding athletes was Y. Muhammad Anees, who represented Kerala Police in the long jump event and was recognized as the best male athlete of the meet.
In addition to the individual successes, Kerala Police also achieved an impressive second place in the men’s team championship. The team was expertly coached by Assistant Commandants Biju KS, Cletus M, Sub-Inspector K.G. Ranjith, Havildar V. Vivek, and S. Sreejith. SAP Commandant L Solomon, the police team manager, led the Kerala Police team to receive the trophies from the Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, amidst thunderous applause from the crowd. The team’s hard work, dedication, and unyielding spirit paid off in this prestigious event, making Kerala Police a formidable force in the world of athletics.
