Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Island, August 9th 2025: The Andaman and Nicobar Police showcased commendable crowd management and law enforcement skills during a public protest held today at Bird Line. The demonstration, which saw the participation of local residents, Ward Councilors, PRI members, and panchayat leaders, was carried out in a peaceful atmosphere thanks to the vigilant supervision of Inspector Mohammed Elias, SHO of Police Station Pahargaon, along with Sub Inspector Regan Isaac and Sub inspector Nirmala and Police Team of Police Station Pahargaon.
The protest, organized to voice grievances over frequent power cuts and administrative inaction, drew a large crowd holding placards and chanting slogans. Despite the sizeable turnout, the event remained orderly, with no untoward incidents reported.
Police personnel, strategically deployed around the protest site, ensured smooth movement of traffic, prevented overcrowding, and facilitated communication between the protesters and the authorities. The presence of the police also reassured the public and helped maintain calm during the demonstration.
Inspector Mohammed Elias personally monitored the situation, coordinating with his team to maintain discipline while allowing the citizens to exercise their democratic right to peaceful protest. His proactive approach and calm handling of the gathering were appreciated by both the participants and the onlookers.
