North & Middle Andaman:The A&N Police exhibited a steadfast dedication to justice by swiftly resolving a hit-and-run case near Forest Saw Mill, Betapur. Within 10 hours of the incident, the committed police team apprehended the main suspect, bringing much-needed closure to the victim and the community.
On 03.02.2024, the Billiground Police received a report of a hit-and-run near Forest Saw Mill, Betapur. A compassionate Samaritan promptly transported the victim to PHC Billiground for urgent medical attention. According to the victim’s statement, on 03.02.2024 at 2130 hours, while walking near the forest saw mill in Betapur and engrossed in a phone conversation, the victim was suddenly struck by a recklessly driven Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle, and the victim couldn’t identify the motorcycle’s registration number.
In response to the complaint, the Billiground Police expeditiously initiated an FIR, and the investigation was assigned to SI Indrajit. Through thorough investigation, encompassing physical and technical analyses, as well as meticulous scrutiny of CCTV footage and valuable information from informers and the public, the police team successfully cracked the hit-and-run case within 10 hours of filing the FIR.
The tireless endeavors of the Billiground Police culminated in the apprehension of the accused, identified as Rajeswar Singh, residing in Betapur. The accused has been charged under the relevant sections of the law, ensuring that justice will be served.
