North & Middle Andaman: On September 7, 2023, reliable information was received from a credible source regarding Shri Sanjib Halder, residing at Sardar Tikrey, Subashgram Ward No.6, who was allegedly in possession of a significant quantity of red meat (venison) in his house. Acting on this information, a team from PS Diglipur, comprising Insp. K. Binoj, SHO, PS Diglipur, and PCs Aboobuckar Siddique, Samresh Mistry, Radhesham Hawlader, and Soma Dey, promptly proceeded to the suspected location.
Upon arrival, the team observed a person carrying a large bag and transferring its contents to a nearby hen hut from his residence. The raiding team swiftly intervened, intercepted the individual, and upon inspection, discovered 45 packets resembling venison in three bags, totaling 47.5 kilograms. The confiscated items were attributed to Shri Sanjib Halder, son of Shri Sukhranjan Halder, a 41-year-old private worker residing at Sardar Tikrey, Subashgram.
Following adherence to all necessary formalities, the detained individual and the seized items were handed over to forest officials for further action. The entire operation was conducted under the guidance of Shri Brij Mohan Meena (DANIPS), SDPO (Diglipur), and under the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
