Jammu and Kashmir, Anantnag: As part of its relentless efforts against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police has attached properties worth Rs.75 lakhs belonging to two notorious drug peddlers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Exercising powers under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, police seized a cement-concreted plinth and one kanal of land owned by Tariq Ahmad Lone, son of Mohd Maqbool Lone, from Satkipora. The property, valued at Rs.60 lakhs, was identified as illegally acquired through drug trafficking. The accused is linked to FIR No. 48/2019 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Srigufwara.
In a separate action, commercial shops belonging to Gulzar Ahmad Rather, son of Gh. Rasool Rather, from Waghama, were attached in connection with FIR No. 227/2024 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bijbehara. The Rs.15 lakh property was confirmed as proceeds from drug-related activities.
