On the receipt of a complaint from the Station Officer of the Police Radio Station in Mayabunder, reporting the theft of a battery and an inverter from the Repeater Station located at Bathews Point, Rest Camp, North & Middle, the Andaman & Nicobar Police acted promptly and registered a case of theft with FIR on 15.04.2023, at Mayabunder Police Station, North & Middle Andaman.
To investigate the case, the police formed a special team, led by Inspector PK Abdul Arif, SHO of Mayabunder Police Station who headed the investigation with utmost diligence and commitment. The team carried out a thorough investigation and interrogated several suspects to identify the culprits responsible for the theft.
During the course of the investigation, one suspect, named Amit Kumar Tikader, was identified as a potential suspect. He is the son of Mr. Gopal Tikader, aged 27, residing in Profullya Nagar, Billiground. Upon thorough interrogation, Amit Kumar Tikader confessed his involvement in the crime along with one other member. The team recovered all the stolen items from the accused, which were returned to their rightful owner.
The entire operation was carried out under the overall supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District, who ensured that the investigation was conducted in a professional and efficient manner. Her guidance and leadership proved instrumental in the successful resolution of the case.
Overall, the Andaman & Nicobar Police demonstrated their commitment to upholding the law and bringing criminals to justice. The diligent efforts of the police team led to the successful resolution of the case, and the accused were held accountable for their actions. The timely action of the police prevented the loss of valuable property and ensured that justice was served.
