North and Middle Andaman: Led by Inspector Mr. K. Binoj, the Officer-in-Charge of Diglipur Police Station, the A&N police team initiated a targeted operation against drug peddlers and traffickers who were active in the North & Middle Andaman region. This operation resulted in the apprehension of individuals engaged in illegal drug trade. One of the apprehended individuals was identified as Ram Krishna Poddar, aged 47, residing in Madhupur, Ward No. 5, Diglipur. Upon searching him, the team confiscated 1.210 Kg of illicit ganja along with Rs.5, 91,800/- in cash. Subsequently, another person named Kiran Mistry, also known as Abdul and aged 56, a Chicken Shop Keeper from Ward No. 07, was detained, and 48 grams of illicit ganja were seized from his possession. Both individuals were booked under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
This successful operation, a result of the relentless efforts of the Diglipur Police Station raiding team, underscores the strict stance against unlawful activities. It reinforces the message that such actions will not be tolerated, and robust measures will be taken against those found guilty. The entire operation was meticulously overseen by Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, under the overall guidance of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police for the North & Middle Andaman District.
