North and Middle Andaman: The A&N Police (N&M), led by the Kalighat Police Station, conducted a swift and effective operation resulting in the successful confiscation of a significant quantity of illicit liquor hidden in the dense forests of Talbagan, Doctor Para, Sagar Par Khari, and Paschim Sagar.
Under the leadership of SI Ashok Kumar Baghel, SHO of PS Kalighat, a specialized team was assembled, including ASI Mukesh Charan from OP Kishorinagar, and PCs Jaspal Singh, Ripon Mistry, Ranjit, Sushil Sarkar, and Irenious. This proactive team seized 750 liters of illicit lehan and 4.5 liters of illicit liquor, along with utensils and timber materials used in the production process, which were clandestinely hidden within the jungles.
Following the seizure, the illicit lehan was promptly destroyed on-site, along with other materials used in the production process. The seized illicit liquor was brought to PS Kalighat, where a case under Excise Regulation was registered, dealing a significant blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.
The entire operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Shri. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
