VISAKHAPATNAM: Police in Viskhapatnam arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter for almost two months on April 5. After the mother of the girl approached the Police on Tuesday night and lodged a complaint the incident came to light. P Umapathi, One Town Police Inspector quoting the complaint filed by the victim’s mother said, ‘’The accused has been identified as Dhanaraju, a native of One Town area’’. “Dhanaraju is an alcohol addict, has not been working for the past few months. He raped his daughter in an inebriated condition on many occasions and had threatened her not to speak out about the incident”. Police said, the girl told the incident to her mother a few weeks ago. After the incident Dhanaraju’s wife took her daughter to her sister’s house. The relatives of Dhanaraju’s wife told them to lodge a police complaint. “Police found during the preliminary investigation that Dhanaraju had indeed committed the crime and was booked under Section 376 (Rape) of the IPC and Section 3 of the POSCO Act.
