Bandipora: The Bandipora police today observed Anti-terrorism Day. Anti-Terrorism Day is observed every year on May 21 to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. The main function was held at DPL Bandipora, where SSP Bandipora Mr. Mohmmad Zahid-JKPS administered the pledge to officers and jawans.
The pledge reads: “We, the people of India, having abiding faith in our country’s tradition of non-violence and tolerance, hereby solemnly affirm to oppose with our strength, all forms of terrorism and violence. We pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony, and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values.
SSP Bandipora addressing the jawans said that day is observed to bring awareness about the havoc created by terrorist activities. The day is celebrated to promote peace, harmony and this day helps us to remember the sacrifices made by our policemen and soldiers, who fought against terrorism to protect our country and its people.
